Dr. Jean-Marie Okwo-Bele, Director-Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals of the World Health Organization, Geneva has issued a formal letter of September 19, 2007, ref. I8-370-43 SEARO QSS-ND/rs(2007-155) addressed to Director-UNICEF Supply Division regarding the Acceptability in principle of DTP-Hep B vaccine produced by Bio Farma - Indonesia for purchase by United Nations Agencies. This vaccine has been added in the WHO website list of pre-qualified vaccines as of 1 October 2007.
This product has been released by Indonesian NAFDC, and used by Indonesian EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization) since 2004. This combination vaccine will minimize the number of injections babies/children receive, and prevent them from different diseases (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B).
By receiving WHO Prequalification of DTP-Hepatitis B Vaccine, Bio Farma could supply this vaccine for immunization program in other countries.
