BIO – Td Vaccine
Bio Td is a white suspension in glass vial, containing tetanus and diphtheria toxoid with a low diphtheria component which has been puri ed and adsorbed in aluminum phosphate. One dosage of vaccine contains potential of less than 30 IU of diphtheria toxoid and less than 40 IU of tetanus toxoid. This vaccines is used as active immunization to diphtheria and tetanus in adult and children starting 7 years old. This vaccine is a suspension for injection.
Each dosage of 0.5 mL contains
- Puri ed Tetanus toxoid 7.5 Lf
- Puri ed Diphtheria toxoid 2 Lf
- Aluminum phosphate 1.5 mg
- Thimerosal 0.05 mg
Indication: Repeating tetanus and diphthe- ria immunization for an individual starts at the age of 7 years old.
Recommended to give 1 dosage of vaccine. Administering Bio Td to substitute vaccines containing Tetanus and Diphtheria has to be based on o cial recommendation considering the low dosage of toxoid diphtheria in this vaccine. Applying Bio Td for vaccination for primary vaccination and pregnant woman has not been evaluated. Can be administered together with measles, polio (OPV and IPV), hepatitis B, yellow fever and vitamin A supplement.
Clinical trial reported pain in injection location (20-30%) and ever (4.7%).

Immune system de ciency
HIV infected individuals either symptomatic or asymptomatic should be vaccinated with Bio Td based on set schedule.
Vaccine should be shaken before administered to homogenized suspension
Before administering vaccine, images on the Vaccine Vial Monitor should be followed
Advisor committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has recommended sequestered Tetanus and Diphtheria toxoid for pregnant women. Vaccine Td may be administered as primary immunization for individuals starting age of 7 years old whom had contradictions to DTP vaccine. Based on ACIP, two dosage of sequestered Td 0.5ml with reduced dosage diphtheria in adults with minimum interval of 4-8 weeks. Administering 3rd (third) dosage is at least 6 month after 2nd (second) dosage.

Vaccine vial monitor is a part of the vaccine Bio Td ethics in forms of a red dot which is time-temperature sensitive and functions as indicator of accumulated vial (vaccine) heat exposure. It is an indication for users on vaccine validity.
Vaccine Vial monitor is easy to read. Center it to the square in the middle of the circle. The color will gradually change. As long as the color of the square is lighter than the circle then vaccine can still be used. If the square color is equal to or darker than the circle, vaccine should be immediately be disposed. Must be accompanied with doctor’s prescription
