Pharmaceutical Wholesaler (PBF) Bio Farma Receives an Award from the BPOM

(Jakarta 22/6) Pharmaceutical Wholesaler (PBF) PT Bio Farma won the "Pharmaceutical Wholesaler with a Commitment in Controlling the Distribution of Covid-19 Vaccines" from the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (Badan POM RI). This award was given by the Head of the POM RI Penny K Lukito to the Head of the Division Head of the Marketing & Distribution Communications Division of Bio Farma, Hidayat Setiadji, on June 22, 2021 in Jakarta.
The award-giving activity, which was carried out in accordance with the COVID-19 health protocol, was held to welcome the World Public Service Day on June 23.
Hidayat Setiadji said this award is an appreciation for PBF Bio Farma for sharing knowledge with 8 other PBFs and also for continuous monitoring and evaluation efforts for the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines to 514 regencies/cities in Indonesia.
It is hoped that PBF Bio Farma can become an independent entity, in an effort to ensure the quality of distribution of biological products throughout Indonesia and enter the global arena to become agents of distribution of biological products in various countries.
"Since the beginning of this pandemic, Bio Farma has had a commitment to continue to be able to distribute regular vaccines and vaccines for Covid-19. For the Covid-19 vaccine itself, Bio Farma has distributed 59.8 million doses consisting of 3 million doses of Coronavac, Sinovac is 48.6 million doses, AstraZeneca is 8.1 million doses. This number will continue to grow, along with the planned arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine, "said Hidayat Setidadji.
Hidayat Setiadji added, to ensure that the quality of the Covid-19 vaccine is maintained, Bio Farma has worked together with all of our stakeholders to ensure the monitoring of distribution temperatures within the specified product stability temperature range.
In addition to PBF Bio Farma, the Indonesian POM Agency also gave awards to members of the Pharmaceutical BUMN Holding, namely Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopia, as the Pharmaceutical Industry that contributed to realizing independence in the pharmaceutical sector and the first ARV and Antihypertensive Drug Raw Material Manufacturer in Indonesia. This award was received directly by the President Director of Kimia Farma Sungwun Pharmacopia, Paiman Siregar. (ed/ss)
