Efforts to Suppress the Covid-19 Rate, Indonesia Returns to Bring 8 million doses of Covid-19 Vaccine

(Bandung - 22/7) Bio Farma again received eight million doses of bulk Ready to Fill (RTF) Covid-19 Vaccine from Sinovac, on (22/ 7) afternoon around 11:00 am (local time). The arrival of the Covid-19 Bulk Vaccine has completed the number of vaccines that have been received by Indonesia to 123.5 million doses in the form of raw materials. Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-19 vaccines received by Indonesia, both in bulk and finished products, was 151.9 million doses. 

The arrival of the 29th shipment, Covid-19 vaccine, was welcomed by the Indonesian The Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia , Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, said in his brief statement said that the arrival of this vaccine was part of the government's commitment to protecting the entire Indonesian nation from the dangers of COVID-19. Therefore, the whole community needs to welcome the presence of this vaccine and hopefully further strengthen the steps to pass this very difficult test.

"This community vaccination program is an important part towards herd immunity," said Minister of Religion Yaqut.

According to him, since early 2021, the government has carried out a vaccination program to protect the public from the worst impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The government targets to vaccinate as many as two million people per day in August. Of course this requires an adequate supply of vaccines.

"And the arrival of the 29th shipment vaccine will encourage the acceleration of national vaccination," he said.

This Covid-19 Vaccine Bulk will then be brought to Bio Farma using a special vehicle, to be stored, and then a fill and finish process will be carried out at the Bio Farma facility in the future.

The Corporate Secretary, as well as Bio Farma Spokesperson, Bambang Heriyanto said, this bulk receipt was 123.5 million doses, equivalent to almost 90% of the total receipt of the Covid-19 Vaccine Bulk that Bio Farma will receive from Sinovac, which is 140 million. dose. 

"The arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine bulk today, has almost completed the total bulk shipment from Sinovac, which is planned for 140 million doses, which is expected to be completed in August 2021," said Bambang.

For the total production of the Covid-19 vaccine, as of July 21, there were 86.9 million doses, with 65.8 million of them already pocketing the lot release from the POM Agency, and the remaining 21 million doses waiting for the lot release from the POM Agency.

 

Bambang added, for the accumulation of Covid-19 vaccines that have been distributed throughout Indonesia, as of July 21, 2021, there were 76.4 million doses, consisting of three million doses of CoronaVac, 8.3 million doses of AstraZeneca Covax Facility, and 8.3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. 65.1 million doses.
